About Le Parc at Melrose
West Hollywood’s Design District is a unique corner of Los Angeles, a little triangular oasis surrounded by some of the best shops, restaurants, and nightlife in the city. Le Parc at Melrose is set on a residential street between Melrose and Santa Monica Boulevard, and occupies a relatively unassuming converted apartment building. Inside, however, are suites that marry residential spaciousness and comforts with boutique-hotel good looks. Kitchenettes come equipped with Keurig coffee makers, turntables and fireplaces are universal, and each suite has a private balcony in addition to plentiful indoor lounge space. The look is glamorous, but in the kind of low-key way that’s suited to an extended stay, informed by Hollywood’s Art Deco heritage and the modernist influence of the Design District. Knoll, the hotel’s restaurant, serves French-influenced farm-to-table fare in an elegant dining room, while more casual fare is available on the rooftop by the poolside. This roof deck, incidentally, is one of Le Parc’s highlights, a semi-private refuge by day and a lively but secluded nightspot after dark — a welcome counterpoint to the high-intensity nightlife of the Sunset Strip and West Hollywood’s busier corners.
