Longyearbyen is not a city with a dense hotel infrastructure, so booking is relatively direct, this is not the kind of property that sells out six months in advance under normal conditions, outside of peak Northern Lights season (roughly November through February) and the midnight sun window (April through August). Time those periods and book six to eight weeks out to secure room choice. Outside those windows, last-minute availability is realistic.

The lodge's restaurant has a reputation as one of the stronger dining options in town, which matters more here than it would elsewhere: your alternatives in Longyearbyen are limited, the cost of eating out across the board is high.
