Casa Marina is the easiest booking among Key West's larger resorts, and one of the few properties with genuine oceanfront access and a full-scale pool complex. It suits first-timers who want resort amenities and Hilton Honors points without the boutique premium. The quieter southeastern location works well if Duval Street proximity is not your priority.

Pier House Resort & Spa sits at the foot of Duval Street with direct Gulf access, making it the most convenient resort-style base in Key West for families and couples. The private beach and spa give you a place to decompress without leaving the property. Easy to book outside peak season; aim for late April to June for the best value.

Southernmost House sits at the quiet end of Duval Street in a Victorian-era mansion, making it a credible base for first-timers who want Key West character without full resort infrastructure. Booking is easy relative to boutique competitors. Best suited to couples after historic atmosphere and walkable access to the island's restaurants and waterfront.

Sunset Key Cottages is a private-island resort just off Key West, accessible by ferry from the main island dock. It is the right call if seclusion and quiet are your priorities, and a poor fit if you want walkable access to Duval Street. Book 60 to 90 days out for peak-season stays from November through April.

Blue Flamingo Resort (formerly The Gates Hotel) sits on N Roosevelt Blvd — a trade-off of location for easier parking, larger rooms, and straightforward booking. It works best for return Key West visitors, road-trippers, and anniversary stays where pool access matters more than walkability to Old Town. For Old Town access, look elsewhere in the Key West lineup.
