About Hotel El Manantial del Silencio
If you find yourself in the tiny village of Purmamarca in Argentina’s scenic northwest, you’re probably there for peace and quiet, and the dazzling desert and mountain landscapes. El Manantial del Silencio, a Spanish Colonial–style boutique hotel located at the base of the famed Hill of Seven Colors, hits all the right notes. The name means “Source of Silence,” which sums things up nicely: you won’t find a TV in your room, just old-world charm and peaceful views through the villa’s original shuttered windows. There’s a spa and an outdoor pool, a terrace restaurant, a breakfast buffet featuring Andean delicacies, and shaded gardens where a couple of resident llamas roam, while the village itself is a short walk away.
