Just off Gwithian Beach in far west Cornwall is what might be one of the most laid-back hotel experiences in all of England. Three Mile Beach is a set of fifteen beach houses, brightly colored on the outside and minimalist-but-warm on the inside, sleeping anywhere from two to eight guests, complete with kitchens, hot tubs, saunas, all a five-minute walk from the beach. There’s a food truck serving a remarkably wide variety of street-inspired food, for takeout or delivery, and while surfing isn’t literally obligatory, it’d be a shame to leave without at least a lesson.
