About PoMo
Échirolles, on the south side of the French Alpine city of Grenoble, offers something unusual: a semi-urban environment just a few minutes from the ski slopes. There are purpose-built ski resorts that aren’t as close to their mountains as Échirolles is to the Isère resorts. And in the midst of it all, an unforgettable hotel. PoMo Hotel & Restaurant is named, one presumes, for the style of its architecture and interior design, a post-modern mélange of contemporary colors, bold graphics and typography, and handsome modernist-inspired architecture and furnishings. The rooms are versatile, as befits a hotel that’s roughly equal parts business and leisure destination. They’re stylish enough to feel fun and yet practical enough to serve as a home office for a few days or more. And the restaurant and bar are worth getting to know as well, both occupying a sunlit space that opens out onto a terrace, season permitting. The restaurant handles everything from breakfast and brunch on through to dinner in a modern bistro style, with live entertainment on the weekends. Part urban boutique, part mountain resort, with a bit of something for everyone — what could be more pomo than that?
