Yes, it’s lavish in its own way, but the most immediately striking thing about Hotel Boulevard is that it isn’t housed in some rakishly angled skyscraper, or built on a manmade island. Instead it’s laid out like a relatively modest mid-rise village, with a warmth that stems from its human scale and its traditionally influenced design. Rooms face the gardens and pool, and are not just quiet but exceedingly comfortable, and tasteful to boot — no mean feat in this town. A handful of restaurants include Mediterranean and French options, as well as a casual food truck operating out of a Sixties Airstream trailer.
