About Domaine de la Partoucie
An old feudal estate in the Charente, Domaine de la Partoucie wears its substantial history lightly; though its buildings date back to the 18th and 15th centuries, the interiors aren’t overly precious about their heritage. There’s antique furniture, sure, and some period architecture, but it’s livened by contemporary design and some luxurious modern comforts. With just five rooms it retains the atmosphere of a private residence, one with a saltwater swimming pool and facilities for tennis. A farm-fresh breakfast is the extent of the culinary offering; the town of Confolens, with its restaurants, is a scant ten minutes away by car.
