With its urban location and ultra-modern glass structure, InterContinental Chengdu Global Center doesn’t exactly scream child friendly. But inside it’s a kid's dream, with themed bedrooms – the Princess room comes with pink drapes and a chandelier, the Ocean room with a boat-inspired bunk bed – and a rather bonkers indoor waterpark, which gives you some idea of the size of the 975-room hotel. Adults get their own entertainment in the form of six restaurants, an indoor and outdoor pool, a fitness room, and a spa, plus two rooms dedicated to the Chinese game mahjong.
