About Locanda Fontelupa
Forty hectares of organic farmland in the Maremma, halfway between the Tyrrhenian Sea and Monte Amiata, with wolves occasionally passing through the surrounding woods alongside roe deer, wild boar, and three species of owl. Five rooms and a new suite furnish the ancient hillside farmhouse. Anatolian kilims, Berber fabrics, and Suzani tapestries share wall space with pieces crafted from local Amiata chestnut, antiques gathered by the owners across decades of travel. The farm produces hay, olive oil, and saffron using organic methods. A retired surgeon, a theatre actress, and a beekeeper between them run the place.
