About kleiner Löwe – Stadthotel Bregenz
The lakeside city of Bregenz, at the far western end of Austria, might not be the first place you’d think to look for an “Architekturhotel,” but this eye-catching building by the Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron is exactly that. Stadthotel kleiner Löwe contains a mere eight rooms, but what rooms they are — modern and minimal yet warm and welcoming, they’re proof that contemporary architects are still capable of designing eminently livable spaces. A hearty breakfast, served in the salon, is the extent of the meal service, but the location means the whole of central Bregenz is right at your feet.
