About Rhode\u0027s Motor Lodge
Set on the highway leading out of Boone, Rhode’s Motor Lodge was a classic family-owned motel for decades before a Raleigh-based hospitality group converted the property into a modern boutique hotel; which is to say, its second golden age starts now. All the conveniences of an old-school motor inn are still in place — two levels of rooms with drive-up parking, an eatery serving up comfort food, easy access to the Blue Ridge Mountains — but the interiors are fully refreshed and updated, cozy and bright with custom furnishings and locally produced artwork. Upper-level rooms have balconies, and many feature mountain views and stylish daybeds. Common spaces include a large courtyard patio with rocking chairs around a fire pit and a sleek lobby with a central fireplace.
