A lush and private garden surrounds A Cheda, a self-described “lodge de charme” just a short drive away from Bonifacio. The boutique hotel’s rural stone house is home to a collection of cozy cottage-style guest rooms which blend traditional Corsican limestone, exposed stone and wooden beams with Mediterranean-inspired shades of blue and sunshine yellow. Family-friendly suites sleep up to four, and some rooms come with saunas and private terraces. The rather lovely outdoor pool enjoys a verdant setting surrounded by the garden’s leafy foliage and tall palms and makes a pleasant spot for laidback summer lunches. By night the hotel serves al fresco aperitifs of local Corsican wines and the gastronomic restaurant L’A Cheda is also rooted in the local terroir; herbs and vegetables are even picked fresh from the hotel’s own vegetable garden. A poolside wellness center completes the offering, with a Jacuzzi, Finnish sauna, and a range of treatments including reflexology, Reiki sessions, and Swedish massages.
