About Burghotel Staufeneck
Staufeneck Castle has been a hilltop landmark in the Swabian Alps for the better part of a millennium. Extensive renovations helped transform the medieval fortress into the Burghotel Staufeneck, a luxury hotel with sweeping views over the green valley below. Rooms are elegant and luminous with native wood and stone details, and suites feature charmingly sloped ceilings and spacious bathrooms with soaking tubs. Some overlook the castle courtyard, and others face the heated outdoor infinity pool, part of the hotel’s stylish wellness center, which also includes Roman-style baths, an ice grotto, and a log-cabin sauna. Other highlights include a one-MICHELIN-Star restaurant and hiking trails that start at the front door; in winter, staff lead guided nighttime hikes, illuminated by torchlight and followed by a traditional mulled-wine reception.
