    About Eastwind Lake Placid

Sister to the original Eastwind in the Catskills, Eastwind Lake Placid takes the brand’s signature Scandinavian-inspired modernism to one of the Adirondacks’ most iconic destinations. Here, as in the Catskills, Scandinavian modernism means a certain visual simplicity, sure — but it also means the kind of coziness that’s absolutely essential to a Winter Olympics destination. The original motor inn building is home to the hotel’s traditional queen and king rooms, substantially upgraded from the motel days — they’re ultra-stylish, and full of unique touches like wood stoves, reading lofts, or balconies. And to these are added a number of freestanding cabins, including the compact and distinctive 170-square-foot Lushna Petites, with room for a king bed, a bathroom, and not much else. There’s a bar and lounge serving drinks and light fare as well as a number of outdoor fire pits and a community barbecue area, and a swimming pool is in the works. The property spans several acres and offers plenty of room to ramble, and bikes are available for exploring further afield. And Lake Placid, both the town and the lake itself, have much to offer, from restaurants and sightseeing to hiking, water sports, and skiing.
