The take
The Take
The Vibe
Under Canvas Acadia presents a considered, design-forward approach to tented hospitality that intentionally recedes into the landscape. Canvas-and-wood structures are sited to prioritize exposure to treeline and sky rather than to one another, and a restrained material palette with minimal artificial light keeps the focus on natural spectacle. The property reads as quietly sophisticated and intimate: nights can go dark enough to reveal the Milky Way, while daylight is defined by granite outcroppings and spruce corridors. Michelin’s selection signals that this tent format is executed at a hotel level rather than as mere novelty.
Best For
This property suits travelers who want a nature-first stay with design sensibilities: people seeking immersive experiences in Acadia rather than a conventional inn. It is a strong fit for romantic getaways and weekend escapes (user-provided) and is an elevated alternative for groups heading into the park. Guests who prize quiet, stargazing and a deliberately pared-back built environment will find the orientation toward treeline and sky especially rewarding; Michelin recognition underscores its appeal to design-minded visitors.
