This Outstanding in the Field event pairs a farm-to-table dinner with a farm-to-closet theme. The program connects food and clothing through the people, places, and processes behind them, with Black Mountain Ranch in Point Reyes Station as the setting.

Fibershed Learning Center walk

The property walk is centered on the Fibershed Learning Center at Black Mountain Ranch, which provides education, demonstration, and hands-on experiences with regional natural fiber and dye producers. The route begins at the ranch’s historic barn, built in 1870, then continues to the dye garden, natural dye pavilion, and conservation sheep flock whose wool is transformed into textiles on the property.

Chef, winery, and host ranchers

Seth Stowaway is the guest chef, listed with The Same Sun, Chicken Fried Palace, and Lore. Chris and Sarah Pittenger of Gros Ventre Cellars are the guest winery. Marcel Houtzager and Julian Gilbert are the host ranchers for Black Mountain Ranch.
