Poggio di Sotto 1995 Library Dinner
A 12-guest Poggio di Sotto library tasting and five-course dinner at 67 Pall Mall, led by winemaker Leonardo Berti.

A London masterclass on German Riesling’s history, British market reputation, classifications, vineyards and styles, led by Elton Muço and Max Melvin.
The history and revival of German Riesling looks at how the grape’s reputation changed in Britain. The program starts with the late nineteenth-century British market for German white wines known as Hock, then moves to the later association of German whites with inexpensive, sweet Liebfraumilch, before tracing Riesling’s more recent recovery as a nuanced, terroir-driven wine.
Elton Muço, Head Sommelier & Lounge Operations, and Sommelier Max Melvin lead the session through key German Riesling styles, classifications and vineyards. The classification thread runs from the Prädikat system, including Kabinett, Auslese and Spätlese, to the emergence of premium Grosses Gewächs.
The tasting is structured around Rieslings across vineyards, vintages and styles, with the range described as extending from bone-dry to lusciously sweet. Named wines include Schloss Johannisberg from Rheingau, Battenfeld Spanier from Rheinhessen, Weingut Odinstal from Pfalz, Weingut Dönnhoff from Nahe, Dr. Loosen and JJ Prüm from Mosel, Egon Müller from Mosel, and Weingut Robert Weil from Rheingau.
The event is organised by 67 Pall Mall and takes place in London, with the St. James’s Room named for the session. The schedule lists a welcome reception before the masterclass, followed by the masterclass start and end times.
