Australian Bar Awards

The program is part of Sydney Bar Week. Its categories recognize different venue formats as well as people, teams, operators and programs. Pearl separates finalist collections from winner collections and links the relevant venues. A category title is not a position in a single national bar ranking. Awards to an individual should also be distinguished from awards made directly to a venue.

The awards form part of Sydney Bar Week and cover bars, pubs and other hospitality settings, together with individual and industry achievements. The 2026 winners were announced at Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf, and published the following day.

For the 2026 nominated categories, hospitality professionals vote to select ten finalists. A second round involves finalists ranking their peers and sponsor votes, with an industry panel overseeing the process. Bartender of the Year follows a separate competition route. These are distinct processes and should not be described as anonymous venue inspections.

The awards provide recognition within Australia's bar trade across a range of venue styles and professional roles. The category and results stage give each distinction its meaning.
