Venues on this list

InVINcible
Antwerp, Belgium
InVINcible is Antwerp's most credentialed wine-restaurant, holding a Michelin Plate (2025), an OAD Europe Casual ranking, and a Star Wine List #1 (2023). At the €€€ tier it delivers serious list depth with modern cooking to match, but note it is closed weekends and lunch runs just 90 minutes. Book for a weekday if wine is your priority.

L'Envie
Sint-Denijs, Belgium
L'Envie holds a Michelin star (2024 and 2025) and delivers focused, season-driven Modern French cooking in a quiet West Flanders village. David Grosdent's precise, vegetable-intelligent style rewards a special trip, but book four to six weeks out minimum and plan your visit for late winter or spring to catch the menu at its most structured.

Paul de Pierre
Maarkedal, Belgium
Paul de Pierre in Maarkedal is a garden-to-table destination restaurant with one of Belgium's most consistently recognised wine lists, earning Star Wine List rankings across 14 placements in 2024 and 2025. Chef Fabian Bali builds the menu around a 68-variety organic kitchen garden, making this a strong choice for a special occasion dinner in the Flemish Ardennes. A car is essential; book two to four weeks ahead.

Sans Cravate
Bruges, Belgium
Sans Cravate holds a Michelin star (2024 and 2025) and a World of Fine Wine 3-Star Accreditation, making it Bruges's most credentialled creative French address. Chef Mike Schiller runs an intimate room on Langestraat suited to special occasions and serious dining. Book three to six weeks out, tables at this level do not stay open long.

VINES by maQUINZE
Ostend, Belgium
VINES by maQUINZE is a wine-focused Ostend pick with Star Wine List recognition, better suited to a planned evening than a casual fallback. Choose it for a deliberate glass with a date or small group; skip it if you need broad hours, a known food format, or a high-energy bar.

Racines
Ixelles, Belgium
A Michelin Plate Italian in Ixelles that punches above its €€ price point. Book for a special occasion or a date when you want quality without the formality or cost of a starred room.

d'Oude Schuur
Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium
d'Oude Schuur holds a Michelin Plate and four consecutive Star Wine List awards, the strongest food-and-wine combination in Sint-Martens-Latem at the €€€ tier. It is a destination meal in a converted farmstead setting outside Ghent, best suited to diners who want traditional cuisine at a documented standard with a cellar to match. Book a week ahead for weekends; midweek is easier.

Stable
Edegem, Belgium
Stable earns the €€€€ ask with Michelin Plate-recognised creative cooking and a converted stable setting that delivers on special-occasion atmosphere. The vegetable-forward kitchen and seasonally driven menu give it a distinct angle in the Antwerp area. Booking is straightforward, making it the clearest choice for a serious dinner in Edegem without the competition for tables you face at Zilte or Boury.

L'air du temps
Liernu, Belgium
L'air du Temps is a restaurant in Éghezée, Belgium.
Overview
Star Wine List of the Year Belgium 2026 awarded 11 categories across ten venues. Paul de Pierre won both the rose and Austrian-wine categories, explaining the difference between category and venue counts.
The competition recognizes wine programs rather than the cooking score of a restaurant. Long, medium and short lists compete in different size classes, while other categories highlight by-the-glass offerings, sparkling wine, sustainability and other strengths. Judges included Jonathan Gouveia MS, Stephen Wong MW and Paz Levinson. The size classes are over 600 references, 200-600 and fewer than 200. Size defines eligibility for those categories, not a universal rule that a longer list is better.
