Muttonbird is a strong Wānaka pick for shared plates, cocktails, and an upbeat upstairs room with Southern Alps views. Book it for a date, small group, or casual celebration when you want seasonal New Zealand cooking with Asian-influenced touches and a drinks program that can anchor the evening.

Harvest Restaurant is a sensible Rapaura choice when the goal is an easy wine-country meal rather than a trophy reservation. Book it for a relaxed, practical stop in the Marlborough circuit; compare Rock Ferry Cellar Door for cellar-door focus and Secret Shack for a more casual backup.
