About Borgo San Gregorio
About an hour inland from Naples and the Amalfi Coast, Campania’s wine country is booming. It’s here that you’ll find the Feudi di San Gregorio winery, an impressive piece of contemporary architecture by Hiraku Mori. And it’s also where you’ll find Borgo San Gregorio, the overnight hospitality component of the winery’s offering, split between three distinct structures distributed across the estate. The first, Dimora Naturalia, is a 19th-century villa, beautifully restored; it’s joined by Dimora Botanica, a 20th-century addition covered in colorful graphic work by the Californian artists Fallen Fruit, as well as the Winemaker’s Suite, set alongside the Venice Biennale award-winning winery building. Though the architectural styles differ, the rooms and suites are all outfitted in a tasteful modern style, with up-to-date high-tech amenities as well as simple charms like views of the vineyards and the surrounding countryside. The advantages of an on-site winery hardly need enumerating; it’s enough to say that wine is an integral part of the experience. As is Borgo San Gregorio’s restaurant, a venue that’s every bit as visually attractive as the winery, and does an admirable job of representing the local cuisine.
