About Hotel Mono
Singapore’s charming shophouses — a sort of live/work townhouse — have proved to be fertile ground for boutique hoteliers. Six of them are joined together to create Hotel Mono, short for “monochrome,” for reasons that will be amply explained by a glance at the photos. The interiors are as futuristic as the exterior is classic, and the rooms are a model of efficient, minimalist, high-design living. It’s a quiet hotel, and intentionally so — it’s more pied-à-terre than palace, to be sure, and depends on its lively neighborhood for day-to-day necessities as well as entertainment.
