About The Green Room
Oceanside, the last beach town north of San Diego, before the boardwalk gives way to the coastal Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base, is less touched by gentrification and redevelopment than many other more famous SoCal beach destinations. And it’s a good thing, because it leaves space for gems like South Oceanside’s little downtown strip, and the masterfully reimagined 1940s motor in that’s now the Green Room Hotel. In its new life it’s miles more attractive than the word “motel” implies, decked out in a very photogenic bohemian-minimalist style, with low-frills but high-impact comforts and an eclectic approach to decoration that combines Moroccan rugs, mid-century modern furniture, and vibrant, well-chosen artworks. The studios come with mini-fridges, coffee makers, and smart TVs, while the suites add an efficient little kitchen and dining area. There’s a communal fire pit with outdoor seating, as well as a cedar hot tub that fits eight. Beyond that, you’re free to make your own entertainment, as the Green Room is a low-maintenance, residential-style hotel — between the beach and the South Oceanside and North Carlsbad downtown strips, however, you’ll find just about everything you could need.
