A cement factory in the scenic outskirts of Nanjing is the raw material for a very distinctive luxury boutique hotel. Nanjing, Jiangning, Autograph Collection occupies a remarkable modern structure that’s built around the attractive bones of the old factory, and its 110 rooms, while stylish in their own way, are much warmer and more homey than the typical industrial conversion. A full complement of luxe facilities includes an impressive spa and fitness center as well as restaurants made from disused industrial spaces, where the patina of weatherd concrete is on display; some rooms come with private hot-spring tubs.
