About Le Grand Cerf
The setting in a half-timbered country house on the main square of Lyons-la-Forêt — officially designated one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France — is almost impossibly picturesque. Hôtel Le Grand Cerf & SPA occupies a 17th-century coaching inn, and many of its historic details, including rustic wooden beams, stone staircases, and open fireplaces, have been carefully preserved. But rooms have a woodsy, bohemian-chic look inspired by the surrounding beech forest. Some are lined in native wood with beds hand-crafted from reclaimed tree branches, others have sloped ceilings with skylights; all come with cozy plaid flannel duvets and pillows, adding to the impression that you’re staying in a stylish cabin in the middle of town. Guests have access to the Nuxe spa at the sister hotel next door, which features a treehouse-style treatment room and a restored farmhouse framing a pretty indoor-outdoor pool.
