Graduate by Hilton Dallas saw opportunity in a former mid-century motel and took it, crafting a must-stay with modernist flavor in the process. They did well by that heritage, preserving elements of the original layout in the process of refreshing the space; a nod to relatives on a campus visit, maybe, but also a shrewd move in today’s design landscape. A polished lobby with floor-to-ceiling windows gives way to Los Charros, a restaurant that combines the local Tex-Mex and BBQ traditions. Upstairs, Texas-sized rooms fulfill needs both classic (Frette pillow-top bedding, sun-drenched views) and contemporary in a luxe grayscale ambience, with Malin + Goetz bath products in every room. This being Texas, the outdoor pool is an absolute must, in season; private cabanas with poolside service make it an all-day affair, if you like. A 24-hour fitness center boasts a full roster of state-of-the-art machines, while the location makes it rather easy to explore Park Cities. However you choose to go, it’s a thriving, university-driven neighborhood with plenty of quality dining and retail options.
