About Evolve Back Coorg
A country as big as India is going to contain plenty of variety; here in the Western Ghat mountains, among the hill country’s coffee and spice plantations, there’s a rural idyll that’s as yet untroubled by large-scale tourism. This is where you’ll find Evolve Back Coorg, on 300 acres of working plantation land, a 49-room resort whose rustic charm and remote location set it apart, figuratively as well as literally, from India’s more ordinary luxury hotels. Evolve Back Coorg’s accommodations are split between the single-room cottages and the suite-like villas, many of the latter featuring private pools. The look is traditional through and through, and the comforts, while certainly luxe enough, refuse to engage in the high-tech arms race — gadgetry is entirely beside the point here. Instead you’ll be encouraged to disconnect a bit, and the sedate atmosphere and the stunning surroundings go a long way towards helping you in that direction. An ayurvedic spa doesn’t hurt either, and the family-friendly pool area offers a different kind of relaxation for parents, in the form of fully supervised activities for children. The plantation is big enough for a decent nature walk, and it’s a bird-watcher’s paradise; off-site activities include plantation tours, river rides and visits to a nearby elephant camp. How to get there: Evolve Back Coorg is located in Siddapura, Coorg. The nearest airports are Mysore (MYQ) - 110 Kms, Bangalore (BLR) - 275 Kms, and Mangalore (IXE) - 195 Kms.
